Craft holidays on Lake Garda, organised by ToBePolo
With ToBePolo a weekend on Lake Garda or a few days between Mantua, Brescia and Verona becomes a holiday you remember: your hands busy in a workshop, the rest of the time all yours. You tell us who is coming and what you are curious about; ToBePolo chooses the crafts, books them with the people who teach them and plans the days. Planning starts at 49 €, VAT included, and you only pay if you like the proposal.
Going home able to do one more thing
You know the lake from postcards. What you do not see is the people who work there: those who knead, who weave, who prune the vines, who shape clay.
Take a Saturday at the potter’s wheel and a Sunday in the countryside, or a week with one craft a day. The rest of the time is yours: the lake, the villages, a long dinner.
In the end you take home a slightly crooked cup you made yourself, a recipe written in pencil and the name of someone to say hello to next time.
What ToBePolo does for you
We choose the crafts
Two to five experiences among the people who teach on ToBePolo, chosen for what you like, the age of those coming and the time you have. We book them.
We put the days in order
One experience in the morning or the afternoon, never in a rush: we take into account the teachers’ hours, the distances and the breaks.
We send you a printable programme
One page per day with times, addresses, what to bring and the number of the person expecting you. Also on your phone.
How it works
You write to us
Dates, people, what you are curious about. With this form, an email or a WhatsApp message.
We send you a proposal
Within two working days: the crafts, the days and the fee. You pay nothing until it convinces you.
You confirm and we book
You pay the fee and we book the experiences with the teachers. You pay for the experiences on ToBePolo, as usual.
You get the programme
The printable programme arrives a week before you leave, with all the useful numbers.
Frequently asked questions
Is the fee deducted from the experiences?
Yes, above a threshold: with at least €250 of experiences booked on ToBePolo for the Weekend, or €600 for the Week, the fee comes back to you as a discount on the bookings.
What if it rains or something changes?
Many experiences are indoors. If a teacher has to move the date we propose an alternative; for the experiences, ToBePolo’s cancellation and refund rules apply.
Does it work with children?
Yes. Tell us their ages: we choose only suitable experiences and leave time for breaks.
What language are the experiences in?
For each one we tell you the language. If you need English, French or German, we ask the teacher before booking.
Where?
On Lake Garda and around it, across the provinces of Mantua, Brescia and Verona. We are based in Castiglione delle Stiviere (MN), about twenty minutes from the lake.
