How ToBePolo works
With ToBePolo you learn a craft from someone who knows it, in person or online. You pick a date, book and pay on the site: you are charged only when the teacher accepts.

If you want to learn

Step 1
You search
Type what you want to learn into Search, or start from the map on the Home page, or ask AI Colombo, the site’s assistant.

Step 2
You pick a day and time
On the listing you choose among the free dates. The price is the one shown: nothing is added at checkout.

Step 3
You pay on the site
By card, Klarna, Apple Pay or Google Pay. An account is needed. The amount is only authorised.

Step 4
The teacher accepts
They have 6 hours. If they accept, the amount is charged and you get the confirmation by email. If they decline or do not reply, you pay nothing.

Step 5
You get the link or the address
With the confirmation come the link, if it is online, or the exact address, if it is in person. From then on you write to each other in the chat.
If something goes wrong

If you can no longer come
Up to 72 hours before, you choose between a date change and a voucher of the same value, valid for 12 months. After that there is no cancellation and no refund, except for force majeure or a serious, documented event.

The teacher cancels
You get back everything you paid, within 14 days, on the same payment method.

It was not what the listing said
Write to info@tobepolo.com: the first reply comes within 7 working days.
There is no 14-day right to change your mind: the law excludes it when you book for a set date.

Your share goes into your balance 48 hours after the end, then to your IBAN by bank transfer.
Signing up
It is free, with no subscription. You sign the contract on the screen: ToBePolo Artisan with a VAT number, ToBePolo Hobbyist without one.
Publishing
You write the listing with price, dates and at least 3 photos or a video, and upload an identity document. We read it before publishing it.
For the first 20 ToBePolo Artisans and Hobbyists who sign up, we prepare the listing ourselves, free of charge, within 5 working days. 20 left.
Getting paid
You set the price. We ask for your IBAN at the first confirmed booking.
The rules that matter
Who you book with
The listing says whether the teacher is a ToBePolo Artisan, with a VAT number, or a ToBePolo Hobbyist, without one. Only with the first do the protections of the Italian Consumer Code apply: with the second the contract is between private individuals.
Safety
The teacher is responsible for safety, the place and the tools. We check their identity document and read every listing. With medium or high risk, insurance is required and minors are not admitted.
Payments
You pay only on the site: anything you agree outside it has no cancellation, date change or refund.
Reviews
Only people who have booked and paid can write them. The teacher can reply, not remove them.
AI Colombo
By voice it answers for 3 minutes of conversation a day per person, then carries on in writing.
